Labtec C-110 Deluxe PC Stereo Headset Feature

  • Volume control
  • Lightweight adjustable headband
  • 8-Foot shielded cord
  • 3.5mm stereo plug
  • Two 40mm dynamic mylar diaphragm drivers
On a budget? This nice Labtec PC headset could fill your needs. The deluxe moniker in the product name refers to the volume control on the cord, a handy extra for instant access if someone pops into your cube to chat, or to tone down the volume if your game of Quake is getting a bit too extreme.

The sound was nice for a headset in this price range. Tones were clear, without too much distortion. Jazz sounded particularly nice, with the phones picking up Miles' crisp, clean trumpet. De La Soul's hip-hop samplings sounded great, with a nice, low bass and not too much resonance.

The headphones plug into the standard speaker or headphone jack in the back of your computer, or into the headphone jack directly on your speakers. You can't adjust the bass and treble unless you're connecting the headphones directly to a speaker system.

The only drawback: We wouldn't recommend this headset for extended use, especially if you wear glasses. They are adjustable, but it takes some fiddling to get them to sit correctly over your ears. Audiophiles looking for top-flight sound reproduction from their PC headphones will look beyond the Labtec C110. But if you're not planning to spend a lot, these might be the ones for you.

Pros:

  • Lightweight
  • Volume control on cord
  • Long cord for full range of motion
  • Decent sound for the price

Cons:

  • Difficult to adjust headband
Lightweight, adjustable Headphones with volume control, 8' shielded cord with 3.5mm gold stereo plug, two 40mm dynamic mylar diaphragm drivers, impedance: 32 OHMS, frequency response: 20 - 20,000Hz.
